Toasted Skin Syndrome

Today's distressing technological-medical example : Laptops should not remain in the lap for very long.

"Toasted skin syndrome" is what Swiss people researchers have nicknamed a mottled-skin precondition caused by long term heat exposure.

Research workers at University Hospital Basel chronicle the case of a 12-year-old boy in a field discharged Monday in the journal Pediatric medicine.

The boy kept the data processor on his branch for times of day while playing video games. Ten other patients have reported the syndrome, but the searches said there were probably no major medical events aside from the stained skin.
