The artwork, pictured, is from the late Belgian performer Guy Pouppez, that died in michael went bonkers.
The band's interpreter told NME how the New Yorkers came across the piece via the graphic designer who works on their own artwork.
"His tasks are basically unknown, so far as we [the band] know," the spokesperson explained. "He was not the famous painter. The actual graphic designer who designed our recording art found it through an fine art dealer she is aware in France."
The piece is considered to date from the ’60s or ’70s.
"We tracked straight down his only inheritor, his daughter, and she or he gave us the rights to put it to use so long even as wrote in the actual liner notes: 'Cover painting by Man Pouppez courtesy associated with his daughter'," the actual spokesperson added.
The Strokes recently produced their comeback tune, 'Under Cover Of Darkness', available being a free download.
