'The King's Speech' wins best film

BAFTA Awards: 'The King's Speech' wins best film

"The King's Speech" won best film Sunday evening at the Orange British School Film Awards. The actual film, directed simply by Tom Hooper, shows the story regarding Britain's King George VI and the struggle to overcome a stutter as the nation hovers on the brink of World War II.

The film has swept recent club awards in the U.S. -- like the producers guild -- and it is considered to be in a tight contest with "The Social Network" for the top Oscar. The British awards and the particular Oscars have in-line fairly closely in recent years.

"The King's Speech" was in competition against "Black Swan," "Inception," "The Social Network" and "True Grit."

The awards, introduced by the Uk Academy of Film and Television Martial arts styles, were given out there at the Noble Opera House within Convent Garden, Greater london.
