Warsh has offered at the Fed since 2006. Chief executive George W. Rose bush tapped him for the post when he was 35 years old, making him the actual youngest person to serve on the Fed's seven-member board.
Warsh offers voted largely with Fed Chairman Dan Bernanke and backed the $600 million bond-buying system. His departure can create a second emptiness on the panel, allowing president Barack Obama to enlarge his / her imprint.
Obama offers appointed four of the board's seven members. The president has re-nominated Nobel Prize-winning economist Chris Diamond to fill the existing openings but Senate Republicans have obstructed his confirmation.
