When online ballot to name the brand new government center within Fort Wayne, Ind. began, this soon became obvious that the top choice was a former Indiana mayor which won four terms in the 1930s and 1950s, by the name of Harry Baals. Baals, if you haven't already suspected, was pronounced "golf balls." You can virtually hear the snickering now, cannot you?

Unfortunately for everyone who is a huge fan of Baals, Fort John city officials are not too keen upon naming the creating after the renowned former mayor. "We realize that although Harry Baals would be a respected mayor, not everybody outside of Fort Wayne will know that," Deputy Mayor Beth Malloy told the Associated Media. "We wanted to pick something that might reflect our pride in our local community beyond the limits of Fort John."

Baals' great-nephew, Jim Baals, has resided in Fort David his entire life and doesn't comprehend the city's concern saying, "I've lived with that name regarding 51 years today and I've become through it. I think everybody else can easily, too."
Hey, if Jim and the people of Fort Wayne are ok with all the name Harry Baals adorning the government center, what is the big deal? And really, NewsFeed may think of several names that could be much more likely to be ridiculed on evening television.
