Chauncey Billups held out vs. Warriors

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Denver Nuggets point guard Chauncey Billups sat out Wednesday night against the Golden State Warriors with a strained left knee but is hopeful he won't miss any more period.

Billups says he expects to play Thursday in Denver against the Texas Mavericks. He was injured early in the first half of Denver's 108-103 loss towards Houston on Monday evening and didn't return.

A great MRI on the knee Monday showed no significant damage. Billups says he previously no idea how this individual got hurt, only that it was a non-contact injury.

Ty Lawson and Anthony Billings were expected to separated time at point safeguard in Billups' place.
