Casey Abrams and Chris Medina took some risks… will it pay off?They did get to see The Beatles Love show in Vegas for a little inspiration.Clint Jun Gamboa is through.Let the tears flow!American Idol Beatles week started with 327, and just 61 remain… they’re on their way to Las Vegas to perform and Ryan says 1/3 will be cut.The American Idol hopefuls perform in Las Vegas – Beatles songs!Some bits of other groups… A first… an American Idol wedding!Melinda Ademi and Thia Megia sing “Here Comes the Sun” – the judges seemed underwhelmed.Oh no… some of these kids have never heard a Beatles song in their life!Jerome Bell, Lakeisha Lewis, Tatynisa Wilson sing “When I Saw Her Standing There” – Randy said they were really strong, but said Jerome was just “okay.Steven and Jennifer said the song didn’t suit them.The pressure is on and rehearsals look overwhelming and tense.Rachel Zevita and Lauren Turner (“Let It Be”) are shown.Ashley Sullivan and Sophia Shorai sing “We Can Work It Out” – Steven tells them it wasn’t their best performances and Randy said it wasn’t hot.Stefano Langone and James Durbin sing “Get Back” – pretty good stuff!Robbie Rosen, Aaron Sander and Jordan Dorsey sing “Got to Get You Into My Life” – Randy said he was really impressed.Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina and Denise – what’s with the cheesy stage antics?A little focus on American Idol’s vocal coach from hell… wow, is she ever tough.Haley Reinhart is in.Lakeisha Lewis, Alex Ryan didn’t make it through either.What do you think of that twist?Ashley Sullivan ties the knot in the same chapel that Britney Spears did.Kendra Chantelle and Paul McDonald sing “Black Bird” – Jennifer said they sounded beautiful together and Steven Tyler said it was really, really good.Pia Toscano and Karen Rodriguez sing “Can’t Buy Me Love” – Jennifer Lopez says they seem like they really get it and know how to give a show; Steven Tyler said it was “just perfect.Tim Halperin and Julie Zorrilla’s “Something in the Way She Moves” is really strong.The remaining made it through to the next round of LA.Deandre Brackensick is out.And… the cuts – including Carson Higgins, Denise Jackson and Ashley Sullivan.Holly Cavanaugh didn’t make it through… Jennifer Lopez said she was outvoted and says Holly belongs in the top 24, and says she could come back in two years and win the whole thing.
Haley Reinhart, Naima Adedapo, Jacob Lusk sing “The Long and Winding Road” – Jennifer Lopez said it was really great and Steven Tyler said it was stupendous.Then it’s on to American Idol’s top 24!And then… the results: Seven hopefuls get through, including Thia Megia and Lauren Alaina.Next up… American Idol top 24 are revealed as the contestants take the long walk to find out their American Idol fate: Naima Adedapo makes it through.
