2011 ELLE Style Awards: Vivienne Westwood: 'Who's Emma Watson?'
The 2011 ELLE Style Awards hit an awkward musical note on Monday when fabled style designer Vivienne Westwood took to the point to award actress Emma Watson with the Style Icon prize. It seems that Westwood was n't exactly sure who Watson was.
Harmonising to Yahoo OMG, Westwood said, "I was supposed to welcome and to announce the succeeder of the Style Icon which I 'm going to do and I was given this whole textual matter about a woman and how amazing she is, and yesterday I was asked, 'This noblewoman would like you to deliver if she comes through.' But I did n't know who she was." .
Westwood went on to say she'd never seen any of the Harry Potter motion picture shows, but that she was aware of the young woman who played Harry's girlfriend Hermione being "really endearing." Watson, to her credit, laughed off the slightly mortifying introduction and jubilantly posed for exposures with Westwood, prize in hand.
