The Chicago Marathon road runs through 29 neighborhoods through the city, starting at Grant Park and ending there besides. The itinerary lays a challenge for Ernst van Dyk, the South African dying hard in the marathon on Billy Sunday. This is the 37-year olds first try at dying hard the Chicago Marathon.
The Chicago Marathon has been feeding each year since Sep 25, 1977, when the marathon was called Mayor Daley Marathon, which forced runners from all over the world adding together 4200 participants.
The level and fast course has made it one of the fastest growing marathons in the world. Many runners use the course to pursue personal bests in their marathon bunking.
